Sneak Peak at the Israel-Palestine Doxxing War

This morning I got another new follower on my Instagram account! Sounds cool, but I check every new follower I get, and it turned out to be a staunch Israel partisan doxxing Palestine supporters:

Of course I could have just blocked it immediately, but hey, I’m bored, so why not make an example of that idiot who goes around doxxing people with a public account.

In less than an hour I was able to find that Feiga Gem is female; that she lives in Emerald Park, east of Regina; that she comes from Malaysia; that she attends the Beth Jacob Synagogue and the Herman Jewish Community Centre of Regina; that she sells handcrafted canes on Etsy; that she rides horses, is into esoterism, and loves Bob Marley.

I also found juicy stuff about her daughter, which I choose not to publish. With a bit of social engineering, I’m confident I could use that information as bait to find her mailing address, phone number, and email. I’m just not that motivated.

The morale of the story is threefold:

• Protesters, watch out for doxxers! Your personal information can easily be gathered even by a noob and turned against you. Avoid operating under your real name, unless you’re fearless and have nothing to lose (like me).
• Doxxers beware, you’re doubly at risk of retaliation. Don’t naively presume you’re immune from your own methods. At least try to give the enemy a hard time at retaliating against you.
• Never fuck with a blogger, especially one who slings mud at cops, politicians, and counterprotesters.

By the way, she’s blocked now. Next time she should avoid insulting my intelligence by using a private account.
