So far I've been holding back in my fight against the City of Victoria's Alto administration. You're about to see what happens when I'm dead serious.
My crusade against the City of Victoria for its human rights violations against its unhoused residents has just escalated to DEFCON 2; in military slang, this means we are one step away from nuclear warfare, as during the Cuban missile crisis.
Without going into any level of detail, one of my clients engaging in legal action against the City has died in circumstances beyond suspicious, and every street-savvy person can tell he’s been murdered by the cops—even though I bet most don’t yet know why.
At my advice and that of peers, two of my clients have since gone into hiding for their own safety, fearful for their lives; even I don’t know where they are, and it’s just as well. I have told my remaining clients to likewise take steps to ensure their own safety, whether or not they are involved in this specific matter. And I have cancelled all diplomatic talks with the enemy. Indeed, I use the word enemy, which I have already put on notice of my intentions should another one of my clients dies in ‘suspicious’ circumstances.
I am not ready to substantiate this story with specifics. If I do, there will certainly be a riot in town, dead serious. I have yet to decide whether this is the outcome I want, and if I do it will be at a time of my choosing; besides, for the moment at least the safety of my clients takes priority.
On the other hand, I have decided to escalate this fight, and that means the gloves come off. In the coming weeks you will see me resort to methods that are bonkers and underhanded even by my own standards. Because now this is personal. It is no longer merely a fight for justice, but vengeance.
You may have noticed I haven’t been covering major events in town lately. I am cancelling all nonessential commitments, including rally attendance and coverage, until further notice. For the next few weeks I will be both taking independent action and building up the Victoria Liberation Front, which I’m already putting on a war footing.
Allow me to close with one word of warning to cops: don’t you talk to me anymore. I am not in a mood to be diplomatic if circumstances require it, nor to ignore you if they don’t. If you approach me, I will tell you to go fuck yourselves—at best.
